Spring Allergies Are in the Air: How to Find Relief
As a pharmacy intern completing my April–May rotation at Axtell Pharmacy, I’ve noticed a common theme among patients—spring allergies. While the season brings warmer weather and blooming flowers, it also marks the return of sneezing, itchy eyes, runny noses, and congestion for many people. These symptoms, commonly caused by pollen from trees and grasses, can significantly impact day-to-day comfort and productivity.
The good news is that allergy relief is within reach. At Axtell Pharmacy, we offer a range of over-the-counter medications that can help manage symptoms effectively. Antihistamines such as loratadine, cetirizine, and fexofenadine work well for sneezing and itchy eyes, while intranasal corticosteroids like fluticasone or triamcinolone are ideal for reducing inflammation and nasal congestion. For itchy or watery eyes, allergy eye drops can bring fast relief. It’s important to use these products correctly and avoid overuse, especially with nasal decongestants. Our team is always available to help you choose the most appropriate treatment based on your specific needs and health conditions.
If you’re experiencing persistent allergy symptoms or unsure which product to try, don’t hesitate to reach out. One of the most rewarding parts of my experience here has been helping patients feel better with tailored, accessible solutions. Whether it’s your first time dealing with seasonal allergies or you’re simply looking for better options, Axtell Pharmacy is here to support your health this spring—and beyond.
